La Jolla Loves Pets Foundation

501(c)(3) Nonprofit

For dogs lost. For dogs waiting. From dogs already home.

Grab your scavenger hunt map at check-in, stroll through La Jolla Village with your dog, collect letters at participating businesses, solve the puzzle, and win prizes along the way — plus surprises and giveaways at every stop. Dogs welcome, kids welcome, leashes welcome — bring everyone you love.

OUR 2026 BENEFICIARY: BABS FRY

Babs Fry has spent the last decade reuniting San Diego’s lost dogs with their families. She doesn’t charge a dime — she just shows up. The Today Show, KPBS, Fox 5, and NBC 7 have all profiled her. She just got named the 2025 San Diego Remarkable Woman.

This year, La Jolla Loves Pets is going ALL IN for Babs. 80% of net proceeds go directly to her nonprofit, A Way Home for Dogs. The remaining 20% funds future La Jolla Loves Pets Foundation events. No one at LJLPF takes a salary — every event is run by volunteers.

For the first time ever, one La Jolla dog will be chosen to represent Mutt Strut 2026 with their own banner hanging in La Jolla Village all of November.
The dog whose family raises the most money for Babs’s mission wins. The banner is theirs to keep forever.

❤️For dogs lost. For dogs waiting. From dogs already home.❤️

We’re the bridge between La Jolla’s generous pet-loving community and the local rescues working tirelessly to save lives. Through fun, engaging events, we create new funding streams that wouldn’t exist otherwise.

We proudly donate 80% of our net proceeds directly to animal rescue partners, while reinvesting 20% to grow our impact and host even more fundraising events.
