This is our “WHY”
Behind every rescue dog in San Diego is an exhausted volunteer who hasn’t slept, a foster family juggling too many medical cases, and a rescue coordinator making impossible choices about which dogs to save with limited funds. These small rescue organizations work around the clock—pulling dogs from overcrowded shelters, rushing them to emergency vets at 2am, medicating, rehabilitating, and refusing to give up even when their bank accounts are empty.
La Jolla Dogoween exists to support these everyday heroes. While we’re enjoying costumes and contests on October 25th, the money we raise becomes gas for transport runs, antibiotics for sick puppies, and the difference between life and death for dogs on euthanasia lists. We can’t do the heartbreaking work these rescues do daily, but for one day each year, our community can ensure they have the resources to keep going.
Every ticket, every donation, every dollar you spend at Dogoween directly funds the people who never stop fighting for abandoned animals.
Now it’s your turn to help.
